The House voted this afternoon to reject the Agriculture Committee’s bill, the FARRM Act (H.R. 1947) by a vote of 195-234. While this is a setback, the vote this afternoon was a reflection of differences not of conservation, but of the many other titles.
We will continue to work closely with the House and Senate to make sure those programs important to you and other farmers, ranchers and foresters are secured in a full five-year bill.
If your representative voted for the bill, please call and say thanks; the capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.
It is unclear now what this means for the 2013 Farm Bill, but as soon as we know how the House will proceed from here, we will let you know! Please continue to check our Farm Bill page for the most recent updates or follow me on .
